This is the perfect finish. It provides an air brushed look. I like to brush it over my lashes and eyelids. It provides a base for mascara as well as a base for eye shadow or on its own it finishes any veins or flaws on the eye lid. I have a friend who rarely wears any makeup and she uses mineral veil as foundation when she uses anything. Don't use very much of this but lightly brush on enough to set and blend your look.

I am a mineral makeup newbie, but I am definitely a fan of the mineral fail. It helps control shine, and because it's translucent I can apply it multiple times throughout the day without it getting all cakey. I suppose my one complaint is that I always do have to reapply it every few hours, but that's the case with most other powders as well.

I really like Bare Minerals Mineral Veil. Bare Escentuals is the heavy hitter in the mineral makeup world and Mineral Veil is a soft, silky product that does what it promises.
That said, I prefer not to have to take out a second mortgage on my house to buy makeup so I went looking for a less expensive, yet comparable product. I found it! Sheer Miracle Mineral Makeup has comparable ingredients (very few ingredients by the way and all crushed minerals - no nano-particles), coverage and costs a lot less than Bare Minerals Matte.
You can find some of their products on Amazon: Sheer Miracle Mineral Finishing Powder - Matte 8g or you can get it at their corporate site at [...].
Note: Sheer Miracle Finishing Powder Matte is not for the mineral makeup user that loves that shiny finish - it has a matte finish. If you like the traditional mineral makeup "dewy" finish, try Sheer Miracle's Finishing Powder Glow.
